iPhone 4.0 OS Apple Benefits and Features. Apple’s most recent unveiling showcased an operating system that will “revolutionize” iPhone usage as we know it. This is particularly true for enterprise users who love the iPhone for personal use, but didn’t find it secure enough for business use.  The iPhone 4.0 OS upgrade makes the platform more secure and allows users to connect to a secure VPN network, sync their office emails, and also download apps that allow them to read virtually any attachment on the go.

For the casual iPhone user, the best feature will be multitasking, or the ability to run more than one app at a time.  This was a common iPhone complaint, although those with an iPhone 3g will be out of luck – this feature is only available for those users with an iPhone 3gs.

For some, the benefits and features of the new iPhone 4.0 OS aren’t enough.  They need software that isn’t approved by Apple in order to have their piece of technology work for them.  For these individuals, a jailbreak is necessary. It’s important to note that if you jailbreak your iPhone, you will void your warranty so you may want to think twice before jailbreaking that shiny new phone after purchasing the additional Apple Care  plan.

This summer, the iPhone 4.0 OS download will become available on iTunes. It’s still not certain whether or not there will be a sleek new handset released at the same time or not.
