USA vs Canada Hockey 5-3 Americans Win at 2010 Olympics. The Olympic men’s ice hockey buzz just got hot! Team USA beat the Canadians 5-3 during the Vancouver 2010 Olympic games.

Going in to the game, both USA and Canada were undefeated.  Both teams played Norway and Sweden, which meant that there was a level playing field.  The Canadians had the home field advantage, which lead many to think that they would beat the US.

The Russians also played the Czech Republic, and won.  Could a USA vs Russia match be in our future? If so, will Evan Lysacek and Plushenko come and cheer their respected teams on?

There was a lot of buzz over the match today, because NBC decided to air the Russian game live and tape-delay the USA vs Canada hockey game.  Everyone was up in arms, and the game was shown on MSNBC.  This, of course, doesn’t help those without cable TV.   Many people were forced to watch the game hours after it took place.

For those who aren’t familiar with the USA vs Canada match and the importance of an American win, the team’s victory has been placed up there with the 1980 “Miracle on Ice”, when the Americans beat the Soviets – which were known as a world class team.

Stay tuned for the rest of the week, as the men’s hockey finals will air later in the week.
