Apple iPad Sales After Launch – Are iPad Tablets Sold Out in US?

April 5th, 2010

Apple iPad Sales After Launch – Are iPad Tablets Sold Out in US?  This weekend, Apple iPads were released for the world to buy.  The anticipation has been buiding for months after it was announced by Steve Jobs himself that they were releasing a tablet.

When the iPad pre-order began, orders were flowing in by the tens of thousands and by March 26, the shipping date for pre-orders was around April 12. The only way to get an iPad at that time on the launch date was to go, stand in line, and buy one.

USA Today reports that the first day sales were higher than expected, with analysts predicting between 200,000 and 300,000 units sold on Saturday.  The real totals are closer in line to between 600,000 and 700,000.

Many of the company’s stores were closed for Easter.  However, the few stores that were opened reported that they had limited availability of the tablet.

There are still some that are on the fence about purchasing an iPad tablet. They aren’t sure if it’s worth the price, or if it will do what they desire it to. There are alternatives to the iPad on the market for some consumers such as those that want an eReader above all.

So far, there are no reports that the iPad is completely sold out, although there may be some individuals that have difficulties finding one in stores near them.
