Apple iPad Tablet Release Date, Price, Cost, and Announcement of Low iPad Inventories at Retailers. Everyone has been awaiting a sleek and sexy tablet computer, and it appears as if Apple is about to deliver. The iPad tablet release date is less than a week away, and already those that have procrastinated to pre-order their products now have to wait until a rumored April 12 to receive their shipment.
In addition, there’s been some reports leaking that Best Buy will have low supplies of the popular tablet, which will add to the frenzy surrounding the items release day.
Those that prefer the 3G version of the item will have to wait until later in April for their iPads to become available. The 3G version will work not only with WiFi connections, but also while you are in transit anywhere that AT&T has 3G coverage. We’ve searched high and low, but there’s no concrete date indicated anywhere when consumers can expect these units.
According to Mac Observer blog, leaked documents indicate that Best Buy is only going to get around 15 units per store the day that the iPads are released. Visions of Black Friday-esque lines and cat fights over units are starting to dance in our heads already.
The price of the Apple iPad units is of a big concern to many consumers. One of the reasons that it is popular is because it is affordable. The Wi-Fi only version starts at $499 for 16 GB of memory. One of our staffers bought an iPod touch when they first emerged, and paid $399 for the 16 GB unit during the first years it was available.
32 GB and 64 GB models are $599 and $699, respectively and the pricing for the 3G models runs $629, $729, and $829. The 3G model also requires a data plan from AT&T which includes $30/monthly fee for unlimited usage of internet connectivity.
