New Healthcare Reform Bill Summary 2010 and Facts, Details, and Text of Health Care Changes
March 26th, 2010
New Healthcare Reform Bill Summary 2010 and Facts, Details, and Text of health care changes. Sunday night a historic health care reform bill passed the house without a single Republican vote. The contents of the bill will have significant ramifications for individuals, families, small businesses, corporations, insurance companies, and health care practitioners. Although all of the provisions won’t be complete until 2018, the impact is set to begin this year.

OF course, there’s still an uphill battle; there are states that are questioning the constitutionality of the bill, as one particular clause in the bill requires an IRS penalty of $750 or 2% of income – whichever is greater. This takes away a simple American principle of CHOICE from the people, and thus the states feel it infringes on Constitutional rights.
This year, the changes won’t be too drastic. New policies aren’t supposed to discriminate against those with pre-existing conditions and there’s supposed to be a subsidized high risk pool set up for individuals to help those previously uninsurable find insurance, although there’s no word on where the pools will be set up and where one can apply for a subsidy.
There’s a lot of information in the 2,300 page legislation. The bill will have to go back through the house because of two budget violations centering on higher education. Still yet, those interested in the bill and the timeline of changes can find a comprehensive listing here, and also find a link to the full text of the bill.
What do you think? Are you happy about the changes to health care and the new health care reform bill or does it upset you?
