Amy Bishop: Alabama University Alleged Shooter, Accused Murderer…and Terrorist?
February 15th, 2010
Amy Bishop: Alabama University alleged shooter, accused murderer and terrorist? Amy Bishop came front and center in the news when she became known as the University of Alabama Huntsville shooter. Of course, she’s innocent until proven guilty.
Amy Bishop’s past has been dug up, and the details are not looking very good. Back in 1986, Amy Bishop shot her teenaged brother. Initially, it was revealed that she was unloading her shot gun when it went off, accidentally causing his death. On the other hand, reports are surfacing that she shot him after an argument.
It gets better.
In 1992, Amy Bishop and her husband were questioned in connection with a bomb attempt on a Harvard professor. A professor was delivered a package containing wires and pipe bombs.
Amy and her husband were not charged with the bomb plot. Reports indicate that “during a search of Bishop’s computer, investigators discovered a draft of a story that Bishop had written about a female scientist who had killed her brother and was hoping to find redemption in life by becoming a great scientist.”
Had these two previous incidences been investigated more, it’s possible that the lives of the three UAH faculty members could have been spared. Amy Bishop has been charged with capital murder in connection with Friday’s tragedy - a crime that could make her face the death penalty.
