Amy Bishop: Professor and Assassin of Many at UAH

February 13th, 2010

Amy Bishop, professor and assassin of many at UAH is in the news today.  Late yesterday afternoon, a shooting at the University of Alabama Huntsville unfolded.  Three faculty members were killed and many more were injured as a result of her shooting spree.

No one expected Professor Amy Bishop to be the one that masterminded the attack.  After all, she doesn’t fit the profile of someone that would go on a huge shooting spree.

The incident unfolded during a faculty meeting that involved a dispute over tenure.   There are mixed reviews on how students felt about the Harvard educated neurobiologist that is accused of this heinous crime.

Some students said that she “wasn’t as good as she thought she was.” Other students said she was “attractive” and “friendly.”

Still yet, others thought she couldn’t deal of reality.  When she was arrested outside of the school, she told officers that the shooting didn’t happen and that the people were still alive.

Her husband was even taken in for questioning, but isn’t currently named as a suspect.

Amy Bishop, if convicted, will join a handful of women mass murderers. However, none of the following women went on a shooting spree.

Elizabeth Bathoroy would kill other women, then bathe in their blood as a beauty ritual.

Velma Barfield poisoned husbands, boyfriends, and even her own mother.  She’s also known as the “Black Widow.”

Beverly Allitt was a pediatric nurse who murdered many babies before the hospital she worked for understood the problem.

While unusual, it’s not unheard of for a woman to go on a killing spree.  For more information on Women who Kill, head to the TruTV Web site.
