2010 NCAA Bracket Update and March Madness 2010 Sweet Sixteen.  The bracket updates today will determine the Sweet Sixteen.  After the 16 teams are determined, they will start playing again on Thursday.  Today, Michigan State narrowly escaped defeat by Maryland – again.

In the first round, the Spartans were almost upset by New Mexico, but escaped after a controversial call.  Today, the winning points were made within seconds of the buzzer, sending Michigan State into the sweet sixteen.

Spartans fans are holding their breath that their luck will stay constant and that they will make it into the elite eight.  IT will be a tough road, as they are playing UNI, the team that upset Kansas and set them packing in the second round of the tournament.

So far, the sweet sixteen includes: UNI, Michigan State, Tennessee, Ohio State, Syracuse, Butler, Kansas State, Kentucky, Cornell, Washington, West Virginia, Baylor, and St. Mary’s.

There are still three games left for the day.  After those games are done we will have the entire sweet sixteen list available.

Today’s big upset was #12 Cornell upsetting #4 Wisconsin. The upset was a final score of 87-69 – hardly an edge-of-your seat thriller.

There are three games left to wrap up, and after then the 2010 NCAA brackets will be able to be updated again.
