Health Care Vote a Big Political Nightmare Amidst Protests

March 21st, 2010

Health Care Vote a Big Political Nightmare Amidst Protests.  The stage is set for a “historic” healthcare vote on Sunday.  The vote is “historic” – especially if it leads to a big outbreak of violence at our nation’s Capital.  While politicians met today, a big rally outside Capital Hill came together to protest the bill in general, showcasing that there are many Americans against the reform.

Still yet, the President is determined to make health care reform a priority during his first term in office.  He has showcased confidence that the American public will enjoy the changes once they give them a chance.

Let’s just hope his views and predictions about the American’s response to healthcare reform and vote is better than his predictions for the final four in March Madness – two of the four teams he predicted are already ousted.

Tomorrow’s vote is over the Senate bill that was passed on Christmas Eve.  If the House of Representatives passes the bill, it will be kicked to Obama to become law.  Given the President’s insistance on health care reform, if the vote passes thre will be little delay in signing it into law.

There’s still a lot of issues keeping certain politicians from agreeing to the bill.  Controversy over whether or not abortions should be paid for with federal funding is still a big question mark.

The Senate bill doesn’t set up a Public Option, but opens up health insurance coverage to people with pre-existing conditions.  In addition, uninsured young adults would be able to stay on their parents’ plans longer. More funding would also be provided for various state Medicaid programs.

What do you think about the health care vote? Do you think it will pass?
