Bill Clinton Hospitalized and Arteries Require Stent Procedure at New York Jefferson Hospital
February 12th, 2010
Bill Clinton hospitalized: arteries require stent procedure. Today, many Americans were shocked to find out that former President William Jefferson Clinton was taken to a New York hospital. Heart problems were rumored to be the cause of the visit, and many people weren’t surprised. After all, Clinton had a quadruple bypass surgery in 2004 and has suffered from heart problems in the past.
He complained of chest “discomfort” and was given a stent procedure at the hospital. According to CNN, a stent is a “tiny tube that is inserted into a narrowed or blocked vessel.” This allows the artery to open up to allow blood flow through.
A written statement reads that “President Clinton is in good spirits, and will continue to focus on the work of his foundation and Haiti’s relief and long term recovery efforts.”
Chelsea Clinton was by her father’s side, and a trip to the Middle East planned for her mother, Secretery of State Hillary Clinton, has been pushed back.
What is to blame for the former president’s health issues? Those close to him have told him to slow down and live a more relaxed life. However, many that know him say that he works at a “frenetic” pace.
It’s always scary to hear about a prominent person being admitted to the hospital. This morning, Alec Baldwin’s hospital visit was the talk of the rumor mills. Baldwin is okay, and his incident pales in comparison to that of Bill Clinton.
Our thoughts are with the former President and his family at this time. We hope he has a speedy recovery.
