New 9/11 Photos Released
February 11th, 2010
New 9/11 photos released after ABC News filed a Freedom of Information Act request last week. These images showcase what really happened during the 9/11 attacks. Of course, we all know what happened but we have only seen photos taken from the street – not aerial photos.
Aerial photos showcase how the cloud of dust rose after the collapse of the building. The photographs showcase much more than just the sheer terror of people and the gravity of the situation. They show how horrific the events actually were.
There are over 2,700 photos that have been released. Never before have we seen these photos – and 9/11 happened over eight years ago.
The photos were taken by the only aircraft that was given clearance to be in the sky after the incident. The photographs served a very important purpose of helping with the investigation as to what exactly happened.
Those in the aircraft also were able to predict the collapse of the north tower about a half hour before it happened.
The photos could be featured in the planned 9/11 museum. The aerial photographs showcase a very important day in our history, and are something that all Americans should take the time to look at.
The terrorist attacks have shook our country to the core. Although we have cleaned up the scene of the attacks, we have not yet bounced back from the damage that was done. We are still fighting wars in the Middle East.
