Macomb Shooting in Illinois

February 4th, 2010

The Macomb shooting in Illinois is a very unfortunate incident that recently unfolded.  A Farm King store in Macomb, Illinois was taken under seige, and so far only 5 adults and one child have been able to escape.

At this time, there’s no word on how many more people could be in danger.  However, area SWAT has surrounded the building. Homeland Security is also said to be on location.

Incidences like this are very tragic.  Unfortunately, there’s nothing that the affected men, women, and children could do to protect themselves from being put in that situation.

Late last year, there was a shooting rampage on the Fort Hood military base.  There were many people killed, and the gunman was a soldier who was also a doctor, that had Middle Eastern origins.

Shortly after the Fort Hood shooting, a man opened up at an Orlando area office complex.

What could cause all of these tragedies to occur? It’s no secret that many Americans are in a desperate situation.  Unemployment is at the highest point it’s been in decades. These desperate times cause people to do very desperate things.

Our thoughts go out to everyone that was involved in the Macomb shooting. Hopefully, the incident won’t turn in to a massacre and casualties will be at a minimum.
