Glenn Beck Launches News Website

August 31st, 2010

Glenn Beck launched “TheBlaze.com” days after the Restoring Honor rally was complete.  Beck has been a strong, yet controversial, voice at Fox News. He’s got a loyal following, and a loyal group of adversaries.  It only makes sense that he would capitalize on his status and launch a news website.

Video Highlights from the Restoring Honor rally can be found here.

Beck says that the site is “A place where you can find breaking news, original reporting, insightful opinions and engaging videos about the stories that matter most.”

The editor of the site is former Breitbart TV employee Scott Baker. Baker says the site will have both news and opinion stories.

TheBlaze.com appears to be a conservative version of Arianna Huffington’s Huffington Post.  A cursory glance at the site reveals several interesting featured stories, ranging from bedbugs to the recent Rally coverage and, of course, stories on the “Ground Zero Mosque.”

Ads on the site point to FreedomWorks.com, a Tea Party organization.  Could it be that TheBlaze.com will serve as the Tea Party movement’s cyber news agency?

Head on over to Glenn Beck’s news web site and let us know what you think.  Are you going to be a regular reader?
