Lady Gaga’s Grammy outfit is out of this world.  Where the red carpet is known for over-the-top fashion experiments, Lady Gaga’s 2010 Grammy outfit will likely top the charts of the most memorable red carpet fashions.

Some would almost venture to say that Gaga is in line with Michael Jackson’s 1984 sequined glove getup, although Michael’s glove has become a cultural icon.

Lady Gaga recently appeared on the Oprah Winfrey show, and told the world about how she loves “shock art.”  This is why so many people love her – she dares to be different, and doesn’t care what other people or society as a whole thinks.

Although there will likely be much critcism over Lady Gaga’s Grammy outfit, she pulled it off flawlessly.  It fit her personality much more than any dress by any designer could have.

Think about it – if Lady Gaga showed up to the Grammy Awards wearing a designer dress  by Versace or an evening gown, everyone would wonder what was up.  It is her ability to successfully push the envelope without going over the top that makes the outfit work.

Now, if Taylor Swift showed up in that outfit, well, one would have to wonder where her fashion consultants are.

The best red carpet fashions will showcase a star’s personality.  When someone dresses outside their element, it feels weird and just doesn’t work.  Lady Gaga hit her red carpet fashion right on the nose, and looked spectacular.
