Starcraft 2 Release: Date, Reviews

July 28th, 2010

The Starcraft 2 release date has been highly anticipated by gamers across the US.  There’s nothing quite like getting that new game, trying to crack the codes and beat the levels.  Disappointment ensues when a game is too easy, and frustration grows rampant when a game is too hard.  Boredom exists where the tools at your disposal are lacking, and getting overwhelmed with too many decisions can leave gamers a little ADD.

Developers don’t have it easy when it comes to creating their product – so how did those who created Starcraft 2 do? Did they live up to the expectations of the tough crowd?

The $60 game is part one of an overall triology. Common complaints include frustrations over the registration process and installation, as well as the constant need for internet connection with the game and virtually no LAN support.

Those were all things that were known before the release – but what about the game itself? The Guardian gives it a 4/5. They can’t say enough good things about the graphics and scenery, and they claim that the game is thought provoking. It’s not too difficult, but not too easy, either.

There aren’t as many reviews out there as there would be typically.  The game developer didn’t release copies to the press early. Still yet, it’s going to be a successful game and we will follow and see how the average gamer likes Starcraft 2.  Please feel free to leave your personal review below.

  1. @Austin Web Designer: Good luck. The online play has really nothing to do with the campaign play. Just because you finish the campaign, don’t think for one second you’ll master the online play. You have to really do the online practice sessions to get ready for online play.

  2. I tend not to leave comments on posts, but your post encouraged me to applaud your efforts. Thanks for the read, I’ll make sure to bookmark your site and come back once in awhile. Happy blogging.

  3. Starcraft 2 guide is available everywhere. Make sure you get teh one that’s right for you.

  4. Thanks so much for your good article;this is the words that keeps me going through out these day. I have been looking around for your site after asked to visit them from a buddy and was pleased when I was able to find it after searching for long time. Being a avid blogger, I’m pleased to see others taking initivative and contributing to the community. I would like to comment to show my support for your post as it’s very interesting, and many bloggers do not get appreciation they deserve. I am sure I’ll visit again and will spread the word to my friends.

  5. Tom Smith says:

    Painful, but could be overlooked
-No LAN, that is right all traffic goes through their servers
    -No cross-region play
    -No channel chat
-StarCraft 2 split up to three games, time to milk the cow

    Painful, and a complete deal-breaker
    -Internet activation

That is right, even to play the single player missions you have to have an internet connection! If most of you people understood where the suits want to take the game industry you might stop taking whatever they are trying to shove down your throats. PAY TO PLAY, and all the big boys are doing everything they can to scratch their way to it. So, if YOU pay for any game that requires anything more than a CD check or a CD key YOU are hurting the gaming industry in a big way!

  6. this game is really good, I just need to finish campaign and see this story line then i’ll kick some ass online lol.
