Lose Weight…By Drinking Wine?

Lose Weight…By Drinking Wine? Research shows that women who drink moderately could be less likely to gain weight. Before you head out for a Pina Colada – hold up and wait.
“Moderate drinking” is defined as no more than two servings of wine, beer, or liquor a day. Any more than that isn’t considered moderate drinking.
Another thing to consider is the actual serving size. A serving of beer is 12 ounces, a serving of wine is 5 ounces, and a serving of liquor is 1.5 ounces. As you can figure, two servings of alcohol isn’t as generous as it first sounded.
A study of 19,000 women starting at healthy weight and spanning 13 years showed that most women packed on pounds. A group of women within the 19,000 committed to moderate drinking and overall these women were less likely to become overweight or obese.
Why did this work? Experts say that women that drink moderate amounts of alcohol eat less carbohydrates overall.
Of course, experts warn of the risks of drinking. Excessive alcohol intake can cause a variety of physical and mental maladies. To truly stay trim, it is recommended to eat a well balanced diet and exercise.
