Daylight Savings Time 2010 and DST 2010 Dates and Times for Spring Forward
March 10th, 2010
Daylight Savings Time 2010 and DST 2010 Dates and Times for Spring Forward. Spring forward is another name for Daylight Savings Time. Although many call the popular day “Savings”, the proper name is actually “Daylight Saving Time.” Still yet, the basic premise remains the same, and we actually gain an hour of sunlight during the evening hours.
To gain the hour of sunlight during the evening, we have to lose an hour one day a year. Don’t worry – we get that hour back in November during the revert back to Standard Time.
This year (2010), DST takes place on March 14, which is a Sunday. If you plan on going to church or have plans on Sunday morning, set your alarm clocks forward one hour before you go to bed. Otherwise, you could be late.
The issue behind DST is that the country will conserve energy overall. There’s no conclusive study that proves this theory, and there’s much debate over whether or not Daylight Saving Time is actually something that benefits us today.
If you live in Arizona, Hawaii, Guam, Puerto Rico, American Samoa, the US Virgin Islands, and some counties in Indiana, you won’t recognize DST and will be able to forget about setting your clocks forward on Sunday.
Don’t forget – The date for 2010 Daylight Savings Time is March 14!
