Sprint HTC EVO 4G Cost, Price, Reviews, Availability and Sales Totals. Last Friday the Sprint HTC Evo 4g was released, and the reception by the general public has been great. Some critics have had less-than-stellar reviews of the only 4g phone on the market. However, across many stores the Evo is sold out.
The cost of the Evo 4g includes a $10 data fee which takes Sprint’s $69.99 per month plan to $79.99 – still drastically more affordable than many other competing networks. The price of the phone is $299, and requires a 2 year contract. The phone is available at Radio Shack as well as in Sprint outlets – that is, if it’s in stock. Widespread outages of availability have been reported.
The Sales totals of the Sprint HTC Evo 4g hasn’t been released. Earlier in the week, it was reported that the handset sold more phones than the Samsung Instinct and the Palm Pre did when they were released - and these were two of Sprint’s most popular phones. Later it was announced that Sprint made a calculation error and not as many units were sold as previously thought. One analyst then dropped his first week sales estimates from 250,000 to 300,000 units to 150,000 units.
The Evo 4g is important to Sprint, who has a dwindling subscriber base. Some would even venture to say that the future of Sprint depends on the Evo – but we don’t know if that’s an over-dramatization.
