Oscar Nominations 2010 List And Academy Award Predictions.  The 2010 Academy Awards will air on March 7, and everyone is gearing up for the big show. There will be lots of star-studded festivities, red carpet glamour, and memorable moments.

This year there are 10 movies nominated for Best Picture of the Year. In the past, only 5 movies were given this honor.  In addition, there’s a lot of controversy over if the Hurt Locker will stand a chance of winning this award.  Roger Ebert thinks it will, while the producer sent an email to Academy Award voters claiming to have a better movie than Avatar.

Sandra Bullock is also up for an award for her role in “The Blindside.”  This story is based on a true story which happened in Memphis, Tennessee.

Twilight fans may be a little disappointed that their favorite vampires and werewolves aren’t nominated for awards.  The disappointment will be short lived, as the new “Twilight” movie is due out later this year.

Other exciting movies nominated for multiple awards include Precious, Inglorious Basterds, District 9, and Avatar.  There is a movie for every taste featured on the list.

Other than Sandra Bullock, Jeff Bridges, Jeremy Renner, Morgan Freeman, Mo’nique, and Maggie Gyllenhaal are all among those nominated for awards for performances in various movies.
