American Idol Crystal Bowersox and an Amazing Performance.  Simon Cowell gave one Idol contestant the ultimate compliment – he compared her to Kelly Clarkson.  In that moment alone, Cowell could be predicting our next American Idol.  Facing adversity, and feeling under the weather, Crystal Bowersox belted her voice and wowed the judges giving us one of the hands-down best performances yet.

On Tuesday, the girls were all set to perform for the judges.  One of the contestants fell ill for an undisclosed medical reason (although rumors point to diabetes) and the producers decided to let the men perform early and let the ladies go last.

As of yesterday afternoon, it was still unclear whether or not she would show up on the hit TV contest.  There was speculation that she would be disqualified if she didn’t perform.  Other rumors pointed to producers using footage of her rehearsals for judging purposes.

She showed up. One of the favored girls on the show gave it her all and showed us that she is “one tough cookie.”  She sang a song by CCR and there wasn’t one bad thing said about her second performance. Could it be? Could she be the next Idol?

Being compared to Kelly Clarkson is the ultimate compliment on the show.  She’s one of the most successful Idol winners – and hopefully Bowersox or one of the other 20 people left on the show will join her fame one day.
