Tier 5 Unemployment Benefits Extension and Agreed Benefits Extension Updates.  The unemployed that are on tiers 1-4 unemployment benefits have a reason to rejoice – it appears as if Congress may have reached an agreement to extend the tiers to the end of the year.

Of course, this does little for those who need a tier 5 benefits extension. The Tier 5 benefits extension has not even been discussed in terms of legislation.

The new bill on the floor in Congress would not only extend tiers 1-4 benefits until the end of the year, it would also give doctors an extra 3 years before Medicare benefits are reduced.

Tier 5, even if passed, wouldn’t help each and every American that had exhausted their tiers 1-4.  It would only be available in those states that had were hardest hit by the economic crisis.

The tIer 5 benefits extension push is really taking up storm. Even though there are no immediate plans for a tier 5 we estimate that lawmakers will have to do something in order to keep constituents happy.

After all, Tiers 1-4 were important and the lawmakers listened to concerns and are taking steps to protect those benefits, so why not  a tier 5?

Please feel free to keep sending your tier 5 stories, and don’t forget to go to change.org and sign the ePetition favoring this extension.
