Verizon iPhone Release Date 2010, 2010 iPhone 4g 4.0 Apple WWDC Announcement. AT&T and Apple have an exclusivity deal which expires in 2012.  The five year iPhone agreement was contested by other networks like Verizon initially because they claimed that Apple and AT&T had an unfair monopoly which locked customers in with AT&T even after their initial 2 year contract was up.

The Verizon network uses CDMA technology and AT&T uses GSM technology.  This means that offering a Verizon iPhone isn’t as simple as just shipping a handset to Verizon and allowing them to unlock it. They would have to manufacture the iPhone special for that particular network.

In addition to the Verizon iPhone, there’s also the iPhone 4.0 4g that is highly anticipated. Of course, this will be available on the AT&T network and it’s expected that the phone will be released during the WWDC conference which takes place between June 7 and June 11.

This year is a very exciting year for Apple, as the WWDC conference sold out in a mere 8 days. Many know that there’s something special brewing at Apple this year, especially after the iPad and after the iPhone 4.0 OS was unveiled.  The iPhone 4.0 OS corrects a lot of complaints about the iPHone.

The new OS will be available in the summer, with an upgrade for the iPad available in the fall. It only makes sense that a new iPhone will be released, as the new OS has so many changes and also there are so many new Droid phones that have specs that surpass that of the iPhone 3gs.
