Playstation Network Problems 2010 Are Causing PS3 Glitches

Playstation Network Problems 2010 Are Causing PS3 Glitches.   Sony’s PSN is on meltdown, and those who long to play Playstation online are getting frustrated.  The glitches are causing users to be logged out of the network, and won’t let them back in.

Although typical problems such as this aren’t a big deal, many users are very upset because downloaded games cannot be played online, and trophies won have disappeared from the console.

This means that many PlayStation network users will have to re-win some of their trophies and awards.

So far, Sony has not fixed the system and haven’t indicated what went wrong.  Those with affected consoles will note that their dates have been reset to December 31, 1999 or January 21, 2000 and with this date, it’s only possible to play non-protected games.

Seems to be a delayed Y2K glitch, although these network problems come at a very inconvenient time.

The error code that will show on your console, if affected is:

8001050F – Hardware failure. Cannot update Firmware or connect to Internet

There are two theories as to what is going on: trophy syncing issues or a firmware bug screwing up the game’s DRM.
