Ground Beef Recall 2010 after E. Coli O157:H7 Identified in Montclair Meat Co. Beef. There’s another recall on the horizon, and this time it’s ground beef. The ground beef recall is related to E.Coli O157:H7 outbreaks. The recall covers roughly 53,000 pounds of the product and includes the following products:
Various pound packages of “MONTCLAIR MEAT CO. ALL BEEF PATTIES”
Various pound packages of “MONTCLAIR MEAT CO. GROUND BEEF”
This recall only affects the Los Angeles area so far. The affected meat was manufactured between May 3, 2010 and May 13, 2010 and has an establishment number of “6116″
The beef was ground at Mont Clair and sent to federal and retail locations around Los Angeles for processing.
If you have any of the affected beef from the recall, do not use it as it has been associated with E.Coli O157:H7.
So far no one has contracted e. coli from consuming the beef. However, quality control testing has indicated that the meat could be compromised and therefore it’s better to be safe than sorry.
