Missing Poway Teen Continues Being Center of Frantic Search: Where is Chelsea King? Ever since Thursday, the San Diego County area of Poway has been frantically searching for a 17 year old cross country runner and straight A student, Chelsea King. When she didn’t return home after dark, her parents grew afraid and called police.

Her cell phone was found locked in her black BMW and there has been no sign of Chelsea King. Many fear that the 17 year old has been abducted. The FBI is now involved in the case, and has taken her cell phone and computer in to custody.

There are about 50 investigators currently working the case, even going door to door to inquire about any clues that could lead them to finding Chelsea King. Jan Caldwell from the San Diego County Sheriff’s department indicate that there have been “results” in the case, but would not elaborate for the sake of the integrity of the investigation.

A woman was attacked in December around the same place that Chelsea King came up missing. She possibly broke her assailant’s nose, although police were never able to find him. The track where Chelsea was running has now been closed off to the public.

1,000 people in the community have joined together, and many students under 18 worked distributing flyers. It’s not believed that Chelsea King took off on her own free will, although authorities still aren’t ruling out any possibilities.

Cases such as this shake us to the very core of our existence. If she was abducted, investigators must work fast for the best chances of a satisfactory outcome. There’s still plenty of hope that Chelsea King will be returned home to her family safe and sound.
