Marie Osmond Son Death a Devastating Death for Osmond Family.  18 year old Michael Blosil has passed away.  Blosil is the son of the hostess of “The Donny & Marie Show” Marie Osmond.  The show aired from 1976 to 1981 and was immensely popular.  Since then, the Osmonds have maintained their super star status throughout the years.

Marie Osmond had eight children.  She defined herself as “the proud mother of eight beautiful children who are always her greatest treasures” on her personal Web site. A statement has been issued in connection with the death which reads “My family and I are devastated and in deep shock by the tragic loss of our dear Michael and ask that everyone respect our privacy during this difficult time.”

So far, preliminary reports are indicating that Michael committed suicide. There are many rumors circulating about how the death could have been as a result of drug use, as Michael was in rehab in 2007.  However, those closest to him indicate that he was clean and sober.

Marie Osmond’s personal struggles with depression have been widely reported.  She even wrote a book about postpartum depression after the birth of her son Matthew in 1999.  During 2006, reports pointed at the possibility of a suicide attempt by the singer after she was hospitalized in Utah.  She thwarted the rumors by proclaiming that she had an adverse reaction to some medication that she was taking.

Our thoughts and prayers go out for Marie Osmond and her family.  After the suicide of Andrew Koenig, news of another celebrity suicide is troublesome.
