Pamper Recall? A Bad Day for Procter & Gamble – Stock & Diapers

Pamper Recall? A Bad Day for Procter Gamble – Stock & Diapers. Procter & Gamble had a bad day. Not only did word get out that there are some people and organizations (including the US Consumer Products Safety Commission) that think that their diapers could be causing chemical buns and diaper rash on the rears of infants across America, but also allegedly one trader accidentally unloaded 10 billion of their shares, sending the stock market into a tail spin.
The Dow Jones lost 1,000 p0ints – or 10% of its value – in a matter of minutes. Initially, it was thought that the Greek debt crisis was to blame, but no. It was the maker of Swaddlers and Cruisers.
Procter & Gamble says that their products do not cause diaper rash or chemical burns. They have even had pediatric dermatologists certify that the diapers aren’t to blame for these ailments either.
Parents don’t agree…and you can’t argue with a mom! Many contend that when they started using the newer version of Swaddlers with the “Dry Max” technology, ironically their children started getting what looked like diaper rash or chemical burns on their bottoms.
Not good. The US Consumer Product Safety Commission is investigating – and if their investigation shows that there’s something wrong, expect a recall.
Then, if the stock falls it likely won’t be the fault of a fat-fingered trader.
