Diaper Recall Looming? USCPSC Investigating Claims of Chemical Burns and Diaper Rash

Diaper Recall Looming? USCPSC Investigating Claims of Chemical Burns and Diaper Rash. First, you can’t medicate your child – now you can’t diaper them? Some parents are complaining about certain diapers giving their children diaper rash and chemical burns.
The diapers in question are high-end diapers made by Pampers which use the “Dry Max” technology. These include the popular Cruisers and Swaddlers products. This is a relatively new technology that makes the diaper actually slimmer and keeps the baby drier.
According to Procter & Gamble, the maker of the diapers, “There’s no evidence that a single baby has experienced a serious skin safety issue as a result of Dry Max.” Pediatric dermatologists have confirmed the company’s stance that the diapers do not pose any more risk of rash than the previous version.
Concerned parents disagree because their babies developed symptoms only AFTER they began using the diapers that used the Dry Max technology.
A FaceBook fan group called “Pampers bring back the OLD CRUISERS/ SWADDLERS” had 1,000 members in Mid-April, but that number skyrocketed up to 3,700 as of yesterday afternoon.
Although no recall has been issued, parents who are concerned about the safety or have a complaint about the product are urged to call the US Consumer Product Safety Commission hotline at 1-800-638-2772.
