Obama Health Care Summit a Bi-partisan Effort or Health Care Reform Nightmare?

Obama Health Care Summit a Bi-partisan Effort or Health Care Reform Nightmare? It’s no secret that changes to the nation’s health care system could be made in the not-so-distant future. The health care summit is supposed to be a bi-partisan effort to smooth out differences between the House and Senate healthcare bill – or accept Obama’s own version of reform.
During the campaign, the President promised to be extremely open with what is going on in Congress, particularly during health care reform. The 1,000 plus pages of potential legislation that everyone is trying to make sense of right now was primarily made behind closed doors. Today’s health care summit put it all out there for everyone to see – just as promised.
The first part of the summit was nothing more than discussions of differences. It’s nothing we haven’t seen or heard before – there are those for the reform and those against it. There are some who are on the fence, and others who won’t even consider voting for a bill that contains special interests for other states.
The US is equally divided over the issues as well. Outlash against any potential reform has been seen and heard all across the country. There are those that think that the health care summit is a great thing, whereas there are others who think that a bill would waste not only a considerable amount of time, but money as well.
What do you think is going to happen in the coming days? Some 77% don’t think that anything will come out of today’s summit. Are you within that percentage? What are your thoughts on health care reform? Please leave your comments below.
