Mosi Tatupu Cause of Death a Mystery. Former New England Patriots running back and father of Seattle Seahawks linebacker Lofa Tatupu died at the age of 54. Currently, no cause of death has been revealed to the public, although it’s unknown whether or not medical officials know the cause or if it is still undetermined.
The senior Tatupu had 13 years playing with the New England Patriots, and many people look back fondly at his career. Those that know him best say that he was a lot of fun to be around, and his teammates note that he wasn’t a “glamour guy” that wanted all the catches.
Born in 1955 in American Samoa, Tatupu and his family moved to Hawaii where he became one of the state’s most successful athletes. He moved on to USC, and was an eighth round draft pick during 1978.
Football was Mosi’s life and up until his death he coached. He coached his own son at King Philip Regional High School, and was currently working as a coach for running backs at Curry College.
For those that are still curious as to the cause of death of Mosi Tatupu, ProFootballTalk.com reported that the former Patriot suffered from high blood pressure and “other health issues.”
While the cause of death may never be revealed to fans, we can honor Mosi’s legacy and remember him for the great running back that he was.
