Tom Hanks Pacific Palisades $26 Million Real Estate Purchase. Actor Tom Hanks and his wife Rita Wilson have reportedly purchased a $26 million estate in Pacific Palisades. The real estate purchase is said to be the largest in Los Angeles County so far this year. Prior to Hanks and Wilson’s purchase, the home was owned by Kathleen Kennedy and Frank Marshall.
So what will $26 million get you in Pacific Palisades? The home boasts 14,500 square feet, four bedrooms and five bathrooms. It’s twice as big as their previous residence.
The neighborhood is an exclusive community containing some 27,000 residents. Some know it as “Where the Mountains Meet the Sea”, and it is near where “Baywatch” was filmed. Other productions that were filmed in the Pacific Palisades area include “Carrie”, “James at 16”, and “Rockford Files.”
While one may gawk at the seemingly obscene amount of money spent on the home, it’s really quite reasonable for Wilson and Hanks. Tom has been in 19 movies worth more than $100 million each, and is only one of two actors that have had seven consecutive million dollar blockbusters.
