Ubuntu 10.04 Features Are Available.  For those of you who have seen many “Ubuntu 10.04″ articles surfacing, but aren’t sure what it is, Ubuntu is an operating system from the Linux/Debian GNU genre.  It’s like Windows or Snow Leopard, but just…different.  The name “Ubuntu” comes from the South African Word which means “humanity towards others.”

Ubuntu is used on PC’s and is an alternative for windows.  Today, a new OS update has been released and people are thrilled.  There are some features of the Ubuntu 10.04 OS that makes it very tempting.

“Lucid Lynx” is the name of the OS, and it’s getting a lot of publicity. The features include, higher speeds on any machine it runs on, a social networking “Me Menu” which allows you quick access to your favorite social networking apps (Twitter, anyone?)

In addition, other features include Software Centre 2.0 which allows you access to software that is compatible with your OS.  The Ubuntu One Cloud music store is also another popular feature.

Cloud music allows you to stream music from the servers of a label instead of downloading large files into your computer.  This should make your machine run faster and will help you stretch your memory.

Netbook users also have  a special version of the software available for download, and it promises to make your computer run much faster than whatever else you are currently using.

The features of Ubuntu 10.04 are great – you should download Lucid Lynx for your machine if you are a Linux lover.
